This wooden block features a stratified sequence of maple, cherry, mahogany, two different shades of green poplar, maple veneer, and Brazilian cherry that is cut and down-dropped along two normal faults on either side of a horst. These strata are exposed in a dendritic pattern of V-shaped valleys. The strata are also cut by a vertical dike of black walnut. The base of the block measures roughly 4 by 4 1/2 inches and is finished with Tried & True’s non-toxic polymerized linseed oil and beeswax Original Wood Finish.
