No. 72 Normal faults with dendritic drainage pattern

This wooden block features a stratified sequence of maple, cherry, yellow heart, poplar and Brazilian cherry that is cut by two normal faults and a vertical dike of black walnut. These strata are exposed in intricately carved dendritic pattern of V-shaped, river-cut valleys. The base of the block measures roughly 4 1/4 inches square and is finished with Tried & True┬« linseed oil and beeswax. The base of each of blocks A-C measure roughly 2 1/2 by 2 inches. Block D measures 3 1/4 by 2 1/2 inches. This teaching set comes with it’s own tray of lovely green poplar. The walls of the box have a continuous grain pattern that wraps around the sides of the box. The set is finished with Tried & True┬« linseed oil and beeswax.
