This wooden block features a stratified sequence of African mahogany, white oak, cherry, paduak, maple, poplar , and mahogany that is cut by two normal faults and a vertical dike of black walnut. These strata are exposed in intricately carved dendritic pattern of V-shaped, river-cut valleys. The base of the block measures roughly 4 1/2 inches square and is finished with Tried & True® linseed oil and beeswax.
