This wooden block features a stratified sequence of tzalan, cherry, ash, purpleheart, paduak, maple, mahogany, poplar, and Brazilian cherry that is cut by two normal faults and a vertical dike of black walnut. These strata are exposed in intricately carved dendritic pattern of V-shaped, river-cut valleys. The base of the block measures roughly 4 1/4 by 4 1/2 inches and is finished with Tried & True® linseed oil and beeswax.
