This wooden block features a stratified sequence of tzalan, maple, ash, purpleheart, cherry, Paduak, mahogany, poplar, and Brazilian cherry that is cut by two normal faults and a vertical dike of black walnut. These strata are exposed in an intricately carved dendritic drainage patter of V-shaped, river-cut valleys. The base of the block measures roughly 4 by 4 1/4 inches and is finished with Tried & True® linseed oil and beeswax.
