No. 39 Fault bend fold

This wooden block features a stratified sequence of padauk, Brazilian cherry, poplar, cherry, and purple heart that are cut by a thrust fault. The hanging wall of the thrust is deformed into a fault-bend fold. The base of the block measures roughly 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 inches and is finished with linseed oil and beeswax.
