No. 30 Reverse faults cut by dike with alteration

This wooden block features a stratified sequence of maple, beech, poplar, mahogany, movingui, purple heart, and oak that are cut by two reverse faults and a vertical dike of black walnut. Zones of contact metamorphism (mahogany) occur on either side of the dike. The base of the block measures roughly 5 inches square and is finished with linseed oil and beeswax.
