This wooden block features a stratified sequence of maple, Brazilian cherry, mahogany, poplar, and padauk layers that are dip up and down broad, opposing U-shaped valleys that are cut by a vertical dike of black walnut. The base of the block measures roughly 4.25 inches square and is finished with linseed oil and beeswax.
