↩ Back

This wooden block features a gently dipping stratified sequence of maple, cherry, green poplar, yellowheart, mahogany veneer, purpleheart, and beech. The sequence is cut by two normal faults and a dike of black walnut. Strata are exposed in a branching stream network to accentuate Rule of Vs patterns. This base of this block measures roughly 5 1/2 inches square and is finished with a durable satin lacquer.
