This wooden block features a stratified sequence of cherry, poplar, purple heart, maple, and Brazilian cherry layers that are dipping down a valley that follows the trace of a normal fault and is cut by a dike of black walnut. The base of the block measures roughly 4 inches square and is finished with linseed oil and beeswax.
